Seville is a city of many different influences. The fusion of Roman, Moorish and Gothic buildings dominate the Seville skyline. Seville cathedral is the third largest Gothic building in the world!

 

 

 

The Gladiator was a Spanish Roman. He was most probably from Italica, the birthplace of Hadrian. When you see where Hadrian was born, you can understand why the harsh British weather saw him off!

 

 

 

 

One local custom which visitors love is the 'tapeo'. This consists of accompanying your round of drinks with a delicious array of 'tapas' full of fresh local ingredients.

 

 

The Andalusians often argue about whether flamenco originated from Seville or Jerez. No matter what the answer is, it is well worth visiting one of the many flamenco shows in the centre of Seville .

HOW TO GET THERE

 

Seville is very well connected. Ryanair and Air Berlin fly direct everyday to Seville from London Stansted.You can also fly directly from Liverpool, Dublin and Bristol with Ryanair. Iberia, Clickair and British Airways have direct flights from Heathrow and Gatwick. Jerez airport is 30 minutes from Seville. Both Ryanair and Air Berlin fly to Jerez. There's also the option of flying to either Malaga or Faro. Both are under two hours drive from Seville.
