When visiting Seville, it is important to remember that food is as important to the people as religion. No matter where you walk, whether it is in the historical centre, down by the river or in modern shopping areas, you will see literally hundreds of bars and restaurants offering 'tapas', local or International cuisine. It is a perfect place to wind down after a day of sightseeing or golf. Finish off the night with a drink on one of the roof-top 'terrazas' overlooking the spectacular Giralda.

The choicest diversity of pork products is a perfect companion to a glass of good red wine or beer. Try 'Caña de lomo', 'Jamon Pata Negra ' or 'morcon' for a real cholesterol fuelled treat. |

A plate of delicious Jabugo ham and Manchego cheese is a match made in heaven. All you need is some crusty Sevillian bread and a glass of Ribera del Duero or Rioja to make this into a meal. |

Seville's proximity to the sea means that you can enjoy fresh fish everyday. Fried cuttle fish, whitebait, baby squid and sardines are the order of the day. Sea bass, monkfish, tiger prawns... the list is endless. |

Night Life |

|
People from Seville are renowned throughout Spain for their healthy outlook on life. In Seville you 'work to live' not the other way round. In summer months, you will see whole families, babies and grannies included, strolling in the streets enjoying the cool of the evening. During the autumn, winter and spring, it is a haven for anyone looking to sample 'la marcha' or just a quiet late-night drink.

Seville is also a hot spot for serious shoppers. The centre has all the main high street stores like El Corte Ingles, Mango, Zara, Cortefiel, etc. For something really special, Seville is the hometown of the Spanish designers Victorio and Lucchino. You can visit their shop or drop in at Adolfo Dominguez, Carolina Herrera, Escada, Loewe and Maxmara whilst exploring the centre. Seville is also famous for its ceramics, fans and shawls. If you are looking for antiques, you will need to visit the area of the Alfafa to find amongst other things, traditional Spanish furniture, paintings, wrought iron and old lace.

Seville is very close to the sea. The nearest beaches are in Huelva, which is about a 40 minute drive from Seville. The beaches in Cadiz are also worth a visit. Why not enjoy a morning at the 'Bodegas' in Jerez and the afternoon on one of the beaches in Cadiz?
